AAC Intervention from Afar

Guest Speaker: Nick Blaschke

This session will address the provision of telepractice for speech therapy with regards to how school districts use it currently and its effectiveness in providing speech therapy services to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Bio: I am a school-based speech-language pathologist (SLP) in the north Houston area and I am a member of my Assistive Technology team at my district. I have been an SLP since graduating from Texas State in 2010 (EAT EM UP!) and have provided services in multiple settings. My role on the AT team is new for me, but incorporating technology to aid students in being able to communicate with others and to participate in their curriculum is highly rewarding and my job is changing constantly as technology advances.
